“Caring for One Another”
Sitting here on this beautiful day that the Lord has made, I can't help but think of the impact
that we have on other's lives. Often times, many of us especially in today's world, tend to avert our attention away from
strangers. Our drive for righteousness and perfection sometimes makes us forget the love and compassion we should show for
those who have failed.
Compassion comes from the Latin word meaning “to suffer with”. We, as Christians,
need to set the example in our daily lives by showing compassion, sympathy, love and empathy. The Lord commands us, “Be
sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble”. 1 Peter 3:8 (NIV). We may never know what one smile,
one act of kindness or one helping hand can do for an individual. These random acts may hold the key to a profound change
in that individuals life.
Never underestimate God's love that He has placed within your heart. It holds much power!
Just to be tender, just to be true,
Just to be glad the whole day through,
Just to be merciful, just to be mild,
Just to be trustful as a child:
Just to be gentle and kind and sweet,
Just to be helpful with willing feet...
Just to let love be our daily key,
That is God's will for you and me.
